I just started working on CATS for Cats, a one night only benefit performance of a celebrity re-imagining of the musical CATS. As it did last year, the star-studded event will raise supportive funds for Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats (www.kittybungalow.org), a 501c3 nonprofit organization that rescues, neuters, socializes and find homes for feral kittens while providing outreach, education and Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) services in Los Angeles, focusing efforts in the under served South Los Angeles area. Kitty Bungalow reduces the stray and feral cat population while providing loving, nurturing homes to ferals and strays decreasing the government’s burden for animal control and euthanasia.
Currently Los Angeles cats entering City Shelters have only a 30% chance of ever getting out alive. Kitty Bungalow is committed to giving Los Angeles city cats a real chance at life in a warm lap!
CATS for Cats is staged from T.S. Eliot’s original letters to his godchildren which eventually make up the book “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats,” that inspires the musical CATS. Fred Willard stars as T.S. Eliot and his poems come to life by celebrity interpretation and a live orchestra. This one night only Broadway caliber celebrity musical review will be a night the residents of Kitty Bungalow will remember all of their lives, as they are tucked away, asleep in their new home, courtesy of CATS for Cats.
